
Class Information
Owning a sewing machine is not a requirement for classes. While having your own equipment is ideal, learning on classroom machines is perfectly acceptable and a great way for kids to learn if it is something they will want to continue. Do not feel that you must own a sewing machine for your kids to take classes.

Classes are divided into the following:
- Kids (6-12 years of age)
- Teens
- Adults

Class sizes
Class sizes are limited to 4 students.
Camps are limited to 8 students.
Registration information
A introductory "Sewing Machine Basics" class is required before classroom curriculum starts. This class teaches basic sewing machine and sewing equipment usage and safety. There will be an introduction to basic sewing terminology. They will complete 1 basic sewing project and all materials are included. This is a great trial class for anyone interested in learning to sew (or learn how to use that dusty sewing machine sitting on the closet shelf)!

Class Descriptions
There are a variety of classes for sewers of all ages.
Prerequisite course:
- Introduction to Sewing
- This class teaches basic sewing machine and sewing equipment usage and safety. There will be an introduction to basic sewing terminology. They will complete 1 basic sewing project and all materials are included. This is a great trial class for anyone interested in learning to sew (or learn how to use that dusty sewing machine sitting on the closet shelf)!
Children's sewing classes include:
- Skill Level #1 (9 projects)
- Learn the basics of fabric and pattern layout, cutting, elastic casings, hemming, facings, and more! Projects include: Sewing & notions bags, peasant blouse, night shirt, pants, boatneck blouse, denim skirt, and round neck blouse.
- Skill Level #2 (8 projects)
- Started after all the projects of level 1 are completed. Students are introduced to fleece fabrics, top stitching, ribbing, sewing on buttons, adding pockets, and 2 different sleeve types. Projects include: sport pants, tank top, sport capris, sports blouse, sports shorts, sports shirt, and ruffled skirt.
- Skill Level #3 (8 projects)
- Students are learn the basics of zippers, fusable interfacings, linings, waistbands, button holes, fly fronts, circular hemmings, and sewing on hooks and eyes. Projects include: buttoned vest, t-shirt, circle skirt, leggings, over-all shorts, sport shirt, velcro shorts, sleep shirt, and more!
- Skill Level #4 (10 project variations)
- Further exploration of skills learned in previous classes for the advanced sewers. Includes a variety of sports tops, shorts, and leggings using spandex/lycra fabrics. Introduction to using a serger.
Teen sewing classes include:
- Skill Level #1 (8 projects)

You can continue to learn after completing the basic classes. Continue to enhance your sewing skills by learning to use store bought patterns featuring trendy everyday fashions.

Other classes include:
- Dolls & Doll Clothes
- Learn to make rag dolls and clothes to fit both the rag doll as well as dolls that are 18-21 inches tall. Projects include: night shirt, peasant blouse, sewing bag, boat neck, bouse, denim skirt, coulottes, pants, peasant nightgown, shorts, and round neck blouse.
- Craft Sewing #1
- Projects include: bigfoot pillow, tie blanket, backpack, pencil case, reversible headband, four squares pillow, heart doorknob hanger, cd holder, pocket pillow, demin purse, and pod pouch.
